Families violently removed from Viktoria Square and transferred to Amigdaleza detention centre. June 2020

This week families occupying Plateia Viktoria, in Athens, humiliated the state and exposed every contradiction of their asylum policy. The cops violently evicted the families and the mainstream news disappeared. But the situation continues everyday. On the same day of the first eviction the cops took another bus full of families to an unknown location. On Thursday the cops took 30 more people to Amygdaleza. They left another 20 sleeping next to the square. Everyone taken from Victoria Square has the same story: No shelter, No food, No Water, No showers and No Information.
Amygdaleza is a prison. It is illegal for the government to take those with asylum there. The violence, incompetence and hypocrisy of the state knows no limits.
